I used this eraser tool to crop the background of the image so that I could just have an image of my model Here is the picture before I erased the background and afterwards:
As I have now got just the image of my model I can now start to use her on my magazine. I think as she has got her hand out I would like her to be leaning on some text, just so it doesn't look strange.
Although I didn't use this image in my final magazine, it was good experience to understand how to edit pictures on photoshop
